It’s tricky: on the one hand, many people attach special importance to a good figure, especially in the summer, on the other hand, this time of year attracts delicious calorie traps.

It is well known that too much ice cream can get on your hips.

However, with some hidden calorie traps that you can indulge in in some situations in the summer without thinking too much about them, it’s a little different.

And that’s good: you shouldn’t forget to enjoy. If you’re still wondering where the extra weight came from and why your favorite shorts are a little tight: there will definitely be one or the other culprit in the following calorie traps.

1. Sweet refreshment

Ice-cold soft drinks promise to cool down quickly, but unfortunately they are also a bad calorie trap. Whether it’s cola, lemonade or multivitamin juice – no variety can get you out of less than 100 calories per glass.

It happens less if, for example, you mix juices with mineral water to create a spray. One thing is clear, of course: the “thinner” the juice spray is mixed, so the higher the water content, the better in calories.

The so-called “near-water” drinks are even less caloric, but also not completely calorie-free. These are mineral waters that are flavored with fruit or herbs and contain only about 30 calories per glass.

The leached water is completely calorie-free: fruits, herbs or vegetables, such as cucumber, are placed in a carafe of water. Calorie-free taste – perfect for summer!

2. “Light” lunch snack

When temperatures are high, people like to do without hot food during their lunch break. Salad is often used as a lighter alternative. But that can work out.

Because such a body-friendly and healthy dish can quickly become a calorie bomb, it depends on how it is prepared.

Especially finished dressings often have a high fat and sugar content. With tasty ingredients such as croutons, cheese and nuts, the salad can have as much calories as a hearty hot meal at the end of the day.

3. Cold coffee break

No other time of year drinks as much iced coffee as in the summer. Of course, because who likes to drink hot coffee even at high temperatures?

But the big surprise: iced coffee naturally contains ice – and creamy vanilla ice cream is not exactly a flattering figure with almost 200 kcal. If you add whipped cream and a decorative waffle, you will even get a total of 650 calories from a sweet refreshment.

Better: Cool iced coffee with ice cubes, stir in a pinch of vanilla sugar (only if you want) and pour cold milk or almond drink. A lighter, refreshing iced coffee is ready.

4. Toast at sunset

Celebrating the end of the day with a drink in the evening sun is definitely one of the “optional events” in the summer.

But don’t be fooled by the liquid consistency: for a little summer feeling with a cocktail like Piña Colada, unfortunately you pay 400 calories per glass.

And ordinary beer (129 kcal per bottle) or sparkling wine (160 kcal per glass) also adds a lot of calories in the long run – completely beyond the health disadvantages of alcohol.

But that doesn’t have to stop you from relaxing in the sunset. For those who want to watch their body, a splash of wine (only 69 kcal per glass) can be an alternative.

5. Slam while cooking

Barbecue evenings are part of summer as well as baking cookies in winter. Sausages in particular like to end up on the grill – logically as fast as they are fried.

But even 100 grams of sausage has about 330 calories. In addition, there are many saturated fatty acids that are found in industrially produced meat and the rest will take care of conjuring love handles.

Chicken or fish, on the other hand, contain about 50 percent fewer calories.

However, you can do even better when you try vegetable alternatives: Mushroom skewers, zucchini or eggplant slices (flavored with salt, pepper and oregano) can be a tasty grilling alternative to meat.
